Age Restrictions and Riding Limits: Once you have your CBT licence, your riding privileges will depend on your age:

Aged 16:

  • You can ride an Electric Scooter up to 50cc Equivalent with a maximum speed of 28mph.
  • Remember to display L plates and ride with your CBT qualification.

Aged 17 or Over:

  • Ensure you have L plates visible on your bike.

Moving Forward with Full Licences: Once you've completed your CBT, you have the opportunity to progress to a full licence. Here are the available options:

  • After passing your CBT, you can take this licence to remove L plates and carry passengers.

  • The licensing process involves two tests, module 1 and module 2.
  1. A2 Motorcycle Licence (Between 19 and 24):
  • Recommended for riders in this age group.
  • Ride any size bike, but it must be restricted to 35Kw (47bhp) with a power-to-weight ratio of 0.2 Kw.
  • Passengers and motorway riding allowed.
  1. A - Unrestricted Motorcycle Licence:

  • Requirements: 21 years old with a 2-year A2 licence or 24 years old and above.
  • The test must be taken on a motorcycle with a minimum of 595cc (40 Kwh).

Riding with a Car Driving Licence:
